Welcome to Arquilla & Associates, PLC. Our law firm is located in Northern Virginia immediately south of the Washington Capital Beltway (I-495/I-95) within one mile of the South Van Dorn Street exit.

Our law firm is dedicated to providing affordable, timely, and professional legal services to clients throughout Virginia, Maryland, and the District of Columbia. In addition, we work in association with a number of law firms in these jurisdictions and other states, as well as in foreign countries, to help clients with legal problems and needs outside our geographical area, or in areas of the law, such as bankruptcy and immigration law, requiring special expertise. We are pleased to be assisting clients, primarily service members and their families in our Armed Forces, throughout the United States, Asia and Europe.

We concentrate our legal practice in the areas of family law (divorce, child custody and support, visitation, adoption, paternity, and premarital and marital property settlement agreements), criminal law, torts (accident-injury law and wrongful death), and government and military law (courts-martial, adverse administrative actions and evaluations, retirement grade determinations, security clearances, and inspector general and other investigations). We also assist our clients with estate planning by drafting wills, trusts and other documents, and with probate and estate administration.

Alfred F. Arquilla, and Joyce E. Peters, who is of counsel to the law firm, are retired Army judge advocate colonels who together possess over fifty years of experience serving in high-level legal positions within the military and the Federal government. As former career military officers, they fully understand the legal problems and needs of military families and the personal sacrifices which arise from serving our country. They are especially concerned about those who are economically or geographically disadvantaged in protecting or asserting their legal rights by virtue of their military duties. Our law firm therefore has an active pro bono practice aimed at helping military families with only limited financial resources. Generally, our pro bono practice is focused on helping E-3s and below and their spouses, when they have no source of income other than military pay, with their legal problems and needs.

Our law firm participates in the lawyer listing service of the Military Officers Association of America (formerly The Retired Officers Association [TROA]), and we are on the referral lists of various U.S. military and other government agencies. We, as well as our associates with whom we work, have possessed top-secret government security clearances that enable us to assist clients occupying sensitive positions with their personal legal problems and needs, as well as all legal problems that arise within their employment.

For the assurance and protection of our clients, our law firm is fully covered by a professional liability policy issued by Continental Casualty Company.
