Family Law:

• We help men and women before they marry in drafting prenuptial agreements, and during their marriage in handling step-parent adoptions, and in assisting on problems concerning the enforcement of court orders from prior marriages.
• We provide advice and counsel to married men and women contemplating divorce so that they can make informed decisions in this often very emotional matter. For those who have already decided to seek a divorce, we provide advice on what to do before separating from his or her spouse.
• We draft separation and property settlement agreements where the parties have reached agreement on settlement terms, either on their own, or through mediation, or with the assistance of their lawyers.
• We provide legal representation to men and women throughout the court proceedings leading to their divorce, including, when necessary, litigating all issues of property division and distribution, child and spousal support, and child custody and visitation.
• During and following divorce, we provide assistance on dividing military and government pensions and on continuing survivor and health care benefits. We also provide legal advice and representation on resolving spousal and child support issues, and child custody and visitation issues that arise following divorce. For example, in our highly mobile society, we are often asked to assist those seeking to relocate with their children outside the metropolitan Washington, D.C. area, or to other nations. We also provide assistance to those seeking to oppose such relocation plans.

Military and Government Law:

• We represent officers and enlisted members in court-martial proceedings, and during Inspector General Investigations, and in responding to adverse performance evaluations and other adverse personnel actions (e.g., retirement grade reduction boards).
• We represent those facing a possible denial of an initial government security clearance, and we represent employees of the Federal government and defense contractors during proceedings initiated for the purpose of revoking their government security clearances.
• We represent employees of the Federal government during Inspector General Investigations, and in responding to adverse personnel actions regarding their employment.

Estate Planning:

• We draft wills, general, special, and durable powers of attorney, health care directives (i.e., so-called, "living wills"), and testamentary and inter vivos trusts.
• In providing advice on estate planning matters, we are thoroughly familiar with military and government pensions and benefits, and take these into account in recommending plans that best fit the objectives of our clients and their loved ones.
• In order to eliminate, or at least minimize, federal estate and other taxes upon death, we provide legal advice and assistance on establishing trusts, on re-titling real estate and other property, and on lifetime gifting.

Personal Injury Law:

• We represent people injured and the estates of persons killed in automobile and other accidents.
• We handle worker's compensation, professional liability, medical malpractice, and social security disability cases.

Criminal Law:

• We represent adults and children accused of felony and misdemeanor offenses, including drunk and reckless driving, in Federal and state courts.
• We advise and represent family members involved in allegations of domestic violence. We provide legal advice to those seeking protective orders or criminal charges against those who have threatened or harmed them, and we provide legal advice and representation to those seeking to defend against such actions.
